15 March, 2017 - Stina Blomgren, a journalist for state broadcaster SVT, was the victim of defamatory accusations by popular Swedish-Russian far right blogger Egor Putilov on his blog.
In the latest of a series of articles on his blog, Putilov alleged that Blomgren, a migration correspondent for SVT, had lied about the risks to Syrian migrants trying to reach Sweden and faked reports.
Putilov claims to have visited Egypt and disproved claims made by Blomgren in her reporting on his blog. The blog post follows an article written by Blomgren which was published in August.
Putilov was previously a staff member with the Sweden Democrats party in parliament, but was discredited and sacked after revelations about articles he had authored under fake names in various newspapers, as reported by Newsweek and TheLocal.se
Blomgren has not publicly commented on the post.
